Everest Panorama trek falls in the Everest or Khumbu region in the northeast of Kathmandu is a short standard trek to Everest, It has been meant for those trekkers who have inadequate time for holidays and still do not want to neglect the magnificent views of Mount Everest (8,848 m).
Also, this Everest Panorama Trek is a better option than the complete Everest trek since one can reach the uppermost point and observe the Buddhist monastery of Tengboche (3867 meters). Most importantly, the trek serves you to visualize scenic views of the world’s highest peaks, including Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and many other snowy peaks as well as the rich Sherpa culture and lifestyle. We can witness a wide range of spectacular scenery combined with a unique culture of kindhearted Sherpa people who reside in these high-altitude regions. This combination of outdoor adventure and cultural exploration will lay you a chance to experience the Himalayan Mountains which will be unforgettable.
With the short flight to Lukla, we reach the heart of Khumbu. Passing through Sagarmatha National Park, we trek toward Namche Bazaar where we will get an opportunity to observe enthralling the sunset on Mt Everest and the Lhotse and Nuptse walls. Spending a night at Tengboche to enjoy the panorama and visit the monastery, we moved down to the quaint villages of Khumjung and Thame. After that, we visit a series of Sherpa villages, where we can hear prayers being whispered, and we can see flags waving as well as shimmering snow-capped peaks. And all these beautiful moments will flash back time and again after we return.
Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Day 02: Fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft) & trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft), 3-4 hrs walk
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft), 5-6 hrs walk
Day 04: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
Day 05: Trek to Tengboche (3,867m/12684ft), 5-6 hrs walk
Day 06: Trek to Khumjung (3750m/12,300ft), 4-5 hrs walk
Day 07: Trek to Thame (3,800m/12,464ft), 4-5 hrs walk
Day 08: Trek to Monju (2680M/8791ft), 5-6 hrs walk
Day 09: Trek to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 4-5 hrs walk
Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our airport representative at Tribhuvan International Airport and you will then be shifted to your hotel, briefing about your trip will be done overnight at Hotel.
On this day, you will be flying to Lukla (2780m /9175ft) entrance to Everest Base Camp. After landing on a hillside Lukla, you will be aided by porters and you can observe downhill to the beautiful Sherpa settlement Choplung. The trail continues along the side of the Dudh Koshi valley before ascending to Ghat ((2530m /8350ft) Trail climbs gently again for about an hour to the final destination Phakding where we spend a night.
After having breakfast, our trek heads off through an attractive pine forest, along Dudh Koshi River crossing many suspension bridges via Sherpa villages Benkar, Chioma, Monjo, and Jorsole. National Park permits a check spot with the serene view of glistering Mt. Thamserku (6618 m). The path continues through the Dudh Koshi riverbed to the convergence of the Bhote Koshi and Dudh Koshi rivers. The trail climbs steadily crossing the high Tenzing- Hilary suspension bridge. On the way there was an inspiring glimpse of Mt. Everest right up next Nuptse- Lhotse ridge. After about 3 hours, mount through the wonderful pine forest and finally reach the prosperous trading and administrative village, Namche Bazar. We stay the night in a hotel. Namche is a prosperous trading town and the capital of the Khumbu Region.
Today, in Namche Bazaar, we will rest and allow our bodies to become acclimatized to the altitude of (3,440m/11,283ft). Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) and health experts advise holding at least one extra night. There is a day tour where one can visit Sagarmatha (Everest) National park on the small hill where we can examine a range of things related to the first Everest climbers, Sherpa culture, and learn about the various plants and animal life of the Everest region. After that, we can take an entertaining acclimatization side trip to the large traditional Sherpa village Khumjung with the view of Thamserku, Khaantaiga, Ama Dablam, Mt, Everest and many more. In the evening, we returned to Namche Bazar overnight.
Today after breakfast we start our trek. The moderately flat route will take us today to view the amazing scenery of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and a close-up view of Thamserku, Khan Taiga. The path continues and we can observe wild lives like musk deer (a herd of Himalayan Thar) and colorful pheasant (Danphe, National bird). Then the path slopes down to Dudh Koshi River with a series of picturesque water-driven prayer wheels. Cross suspension bridge over Dudh Koshi River, a steep climb through pine and juniper forest, walk about 2 hours and bring you to Tengboche. With the background of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Mt. Everest, and many more peaks, the famous Gomba (Tengboche Monastery) is visible.
We trek down to Phungithanka, a small community with a couple of teahouses. The trail heads downhill through the forested path and after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi river to the Sanasa from where we divide the way to Namche and short mount to out of sight valley called Khumjung village, perhaps the major village of the areas and visit Monastery of Khumjung where we can explore the surrounding local Sherpa village and with great reminiscences we stay overnight at hotel.
Today, after breakfast, we head up to Khunde village where a place of famous mountaineers, and we can also see a big hospital running by charity, Then, we march to Syangboche runway which is the world's highest airstrip and with a picturesque mountain view, we travel to the Thame village. The village is popular for Mountain scenery, world-famous Sherpa climbers, monastery, and many more with Himalayan wildlife. A terrific view of the Mountain to the west part and in the afternoon, we visit Monastery.
We leave Thami after our breakfast and move down to cross the Bhote Khola on a well-built suspension bridge. There are some inspiring Buddhist rock paintings in the area and, from here and on the rock face above and below, Himalayan tahrs are often seen. Our direction continues through the village of Thamo and back to Namche Bazaar where we take a greeting break for lunch. In the afternoon we move down steeply to the large suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. We walk through Jorsale and back to Manjo, where we take lunch. In the afternoon it is a short walk passing through Benkar through blue pine and rhododendron forest, with great views of Kusum Kangaru and we return back to our lodge in Phakding.
This is the last day of trekking, where we make the final climb up to the airstrip at Lukla after a short walk in the valley.
Accommodation
Accommodation in the Himalayas is mostly teahouses or lodges operated by locals. They are comfortable and simple with basic facilities. Extra facilities like hot showers, Wi-Fi, charging of electronic devices, and laundries are available by paying additional charges. Room sharing is common during the peak seasons and at high altitudes. So, prepared for it. Washrooms are mostly outside the teahouse or lodge.
Meals
We provide only breakfast in Kathmandu and 3 meals (breakfast, lunch. dinner) a day are provided during the entire trek. Meals are provided from the teahouses or lodges which is simple but organic and healthy. Nepali Dal Bhat is a chief dish with fresh green vegetable curry. Besides, noodles, soup, bread, roti, Sherpa stew, and hot drinks are also available. You can try continental cuisine at Namche at your own expense.
Drinking Water
Drinking water in the Himalayas is pure and fresh. One can directly drink the natural freshwater stream from the Himalayas. Or fill up the boiled water in a water bottle in the teahouses paying an extra charge. Always carry water purifying solutions for proper water treatment and to be safe. Drink plenty of water and keep yourself hydrated to prevent altitude sickness.
Internet connectivity & Mobile Network
Everest Link’s Wi-Fi card provides internet all over the Everest region. So, internet connectivity is easily available and stable in the lower regions. Mobile Network is also stable in the lower regions. You can also purchase a Sim and use mobile data from it. In higher altitudes, internet connectivity and mobile network are difficult to find.

Lukla is the starting point for any trekking or climbing in the Everest region. From Lukla, pass through the villages of Phakding, and Namche to reach Tengboche.

Required Permits
Permits are mandatory in the Himalayas of Nepal. Our required permits are Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Entrance Permit, and Sagarmatha National Park Permit (SNP).

Best time for Everest Panorama Trek
The best time to trek is the peak season for safety and to enjoy the spectacular and clear views. Spring and Autumn seasons are the best time. Winter and rainy seasons are riskier. The trail becomes muddy, snowy, and slippery. Also, the chance of flight cancelation is high. If one wishes to, we recommend you plan carefully to trek during the off-season.
Everest Panorama Trek Difficulty
Since the panorama trek is only up to Tengboche at an elevation of 3,867m, it is easily doable. An experience in trekking at high altitudes is a bonus. Besides this, trekkers must be in good health, and physically, & mentally fit as it is physically demanding. So, we recommend you participate in exercises, day hikes, and physical training months before starting the trek. Also, take necessary health tests before trekking to high altitudes. Altitude Sickness & Acclimatization
Altitude sickness is common in mountains above the altitude of 3000m. The trek starts from Lukla (2866m) and the altitude rises to Tengboche (3,867m) during the trek. Namche is the acclimatization resting place to adjust to the altitude and prevent altitude sickness.
