Trongsa is 129 km (four and a half hours' drive) east of Wangdi and crosses the 3,300 m Pelela Pass. The Trongsa Dzong, the ancestral home of Bhutan's royal family, houses 23 temples. The watchtower, Ta Dzong, has a temple dedicated to King Gesar, the hero of a great epic.
Bumthang consists of the valleys of Chumey, Choekhor, Tang, and Ura. It takes two and a half hours to reach Bumthang, 68 km northeast of Trongsa. Bumthang is ideal for making excursions to the many monasteries and shrines — Tharpaling, Choedrak, Tamshing, Kurjey, Jambey, Kunzangdra among others - as well as to Mebartsho, "the flaming lake".
Day 01: Pick up from Paro Airport (7,000ft) where an envoy will receive you and transfer you to the hotel

Day 02: Morning visit to the Memorial Chorten, the Zangthopelri Lhakhang, and the School of Thangka Painting. Afternoon visit the Handicraft Emporium and some local shops.
Day 03: Drive to Trongsa across the Dochula Pass and Pelela Pass. Stop at Chendebji Chorten for a picnic lunch. Overnight at Trongsa.
Day 04: Perceive the Ta Dzong (watchtower) and Trongsa Dzong, the largest Dzong in Bhutan. Drive across Yutola Pass and on to Bumthang. En route visit the Chume valley, where local women weave the famous "Bumthang Yathra", pure woolen cloth woven in the traditional method with beautiful colored patterns.
Day 05: Day excursion to Ura Valley with a picnic lunch. Evening at leisure.
Day 06: In the morning, visit the Wangdicholing Palace, Swiss Farm House, the Tamshing Lhakhang, and Kuenshusum Lhakhang. Drive back to Trongsa. Overnight in Trongsa.
Day 07: Drive to Gangtey (95 km - 4 hours drive). Gangtey is situated in Phobjikha valley, which is the winter home of endangered Black-Necked Cranes that migrate to this valley from Central Asia in winter. Picnic lunch at Gangtey. Drive to Wangdue.
Day 08: Morning visit to Wangdue town. Drive to Punakha Dzong and visit the Dzong if the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot) and the Monk Body have shifted to Thimphu for the summer as this Dzong serves as the winter residence for the Central Monk Body. Drive to Thimphu. After lunch at Thimphu, proceed to Paro.
Day 09: Sightseeing around the Paro valley includes a visit to Ta Dzong which houses the National Museum, the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, and the courtyard of Kichu Lhakhang one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan - dated 7th century AD. Afternoon visit Paro town and relax.
Day 10: Drive to Ram Thongkham and then hike to the viewpoint of Taktshang, the Tiger's Nest (one and a half hours). This magical monastery clings to a vertical granite cliff 3,000 ft above the valley floor. The monastery, unfortunately, got burnt in 1998 but it has recently been reconstructed. OR Drive to Chelela Pass where you can see beautiful mountain ranges and rhododendron flowers in bloom. On the way back, walk to Chila Nunnery.
Day 11: Early breakfast at the hotel and drive to the Paro Airport for departure.
