Amphu Lapcha Pass Trekking is one of the most challenging treks in Khumbu region. It requires technically enhanced and experienced trekker to complete the trail. The trek to Amphu Lapcha Pass is through upper Hongu valley. The trail also includes Chukkung valley which needs technical climbing equipments and skilled trekker to use the equipments.
Amphu Lapcha Pass is difficult pass because it is not only the summit of high Himalaya but also the site for famous historical exploration of the monasteries temples and different lakes. The trail of the trek has the features of classic expedition too. The trek is difficult because the trail does not follow the frequently travelled way rather it leads to the area of barren, uninhabited, snow covered mountain passes and glaciers.
Amphu Lapcha Pass trek starts in sub- tropical and reaches to the height over 5000m. from sea level. The view of Mt. Everest (8848m.) is astonishing during the trek and the climb of Mera Peak (6461m.) and Island Peak (6169m.) is also possible during the follow of trail. Climbing the peaks gives good experience of mountain climbing during trekking. After crossing the Honku Valley and Amphu Lapcha Pass combines wonderful experience of trekking in challenging route and collecting the experience of mountaineering at once. It needs acclimatization while reaching the Amphu Lapcha Pass. The spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and Mt. Langtang from Mera Peak is superb one. Similarly, the view of Mt. Lhotse from Island Peak is astonishing.
During the trek the exploration of the villages like, Chutanga, Kotte, Thangnak, Khare, Tengboche, Chhukung and Namche Bazaar adds extra flavor in the journey. The gigantic views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Baruntse, Mt. Thamaserku, Mt. Kusum Khangaru etc. are breath-stopping during the trek.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu fly to Lukla (2800m.)
Day 04: Lukla – Chutanga (2835m.) 4 hours.
Day 05: Chutanga – Chhatra La (4155m.) 5 – 7hrs.
Day 06: Chhatra La – Kothe (3555m). 5 – 6hrs.
Day 07: Kothe – Thagnag (4175m.) 6 – 7hrs.
Day 08: Thagnag – Khare (Mera Base Camp 4690m.)
Day 09: Climbing preperation day
Day 10: Mera Base Camp – High Camp (5800m.)
Day 11: Mera Peak (6654m.) climbing period.
Day 12: Extra day for Mera summit if you couldn't make it in 1st attempt.
Day 13: Trek to Honku Valley
Day 14: Trek to Panch Pokhari
Day 15: Trek to Amphu Lapcha Base Camp
Day 16: Trek to Chhukung after crossing Amphu Lapcha pass
Day 17: Trek to Tengboche
Day 18: Trek to Namche Bazaar
